Meet the Team

John Seaga - Host & General Manager

As well as being something of a wine business guru, John also holds a degree in Biology from the University of Toronto. He started managing retail wine outlets for a Niagara Winery in 1992 where he developed a keen interest in all aspects of the wine industry. He then ventured into the Wine On Premise (WOP) sector with another franchise operation. There he was involved in opening the corporate stores and training new franchise managers. In April, 1999 John opened The Village Winemaker (TVW) with partner Anthony George. John is always available for consultations and advice - in person or via e-mail at john@thevillagewinemaker.ca.

Sharon Goss - Production Manager

Sharon has been with The Village Winemaker since 2000, what a fireball. Sharon and her family are originally from the UK. She is a true wine lover and can most often be found racking or filtering in the production area.
Sharon is currently in the U.S. but still here in spirit. We look forward to her return.

Peta Hicks - Part-time Host

Peta has many years experience in the wine industry, having worked previously with John for one of Niagara’s Wineries. Peta has also been with The Village Winemaker since 2000.

Megan Livingston - Part-time Host

Megan is our newest addition and joins us as she completes her teaching certificate. Her wine experience until now has been as a wine drinker. Megan is keen to learn and put her new knowledge to the test.

Anthony George - Occasional Part-time Host

Besides being a partner in the business, Anthony is a professional accountant with extensive experience in private practice as well as in the public and government sectors. While new to the business, Anthony has been an integral part of the team since the start in April 1999.

Andrew Rivett - Webmaster and Carpenter

The Web site was designed and engineered by Andrew. He has been in the computer industry for most of his life. When he is not working on the Web site, he helps out with odd jobs around the store.
